akcha
Know what changed, and what it costs you.
akcha reads every account you hold in the United States and Canada and writes the month out in plain English, each change ranked by the dollars behind it.
What it does
Most apps hand you a chart and leave the thinking to you. akcha compares this month with the ones before it and tells you the few things that actually moved.
The month, written out
akcha drops any change under $50 or 15% and shows the rest in plain sentences, ranked by the dollars behind each one.
What is coming
Recurring charges are projected from the last one you were actually sent. Estimates are marked as estimates.
Committed and chosen
See how much of what you earn goes to rent, bills and loans before you decide anything, and how much is left to move.
Net worth
Cash, investments, loans and cards in one figure, with what you own and what you owe shown separately.
Budgets and goals
Set budgets and goals alongside your recurring bills, and see how each one is tracking.
Merchant history
Your top merchants against your usual, including first-time charges and subscriptions that keep going.
Coverage
Hold a chequing account in Toronto and a card in New York and see them in one list, each in the currency it is held in.
Thousands of institutions
Banks across the United States and Canada, connected through Plaid.
Every account type
Chequing, cards, loans and investments. Balances arrive on their own.
Sync status on every screen
akcha shows when it last heard from each bank, and tells you when one stops.
Manual accounts
Anything Plaid cannot reach, such as a pension or a group RRSP, you add by hand. It counts toward your net worth like any other account.
Security
akcha asks your bank for one thing: permission to read.
What akcha does
- Reads balances and transactions through Plaid.
- Stores its access token encrypted, with the key kept apart from the database.
- Isolates every account at the database level, so only you can read your data.
- Lets you disconnect a bank or delete everything from Settings in one step.
What akcha cannot do
- Move your money. The connection is read-only and has no payment permission.
- See your banking password. You enter it with Plaid and your bank.
- Sell your data. No advertising and no data brokers; the subscription is the business model.
- Keep your history after you leave. Deleting your account removes the data and ends the bank connection.

Questions
Can akcha move money out of my account?
No. The connection is read-only and has no payment permission.
What happens when the trial ends?
Nothing is charged automatically. Access pauses until you subscribe. If you have not subscribed within 7 days of the email saying the trial has ended, the account and its data are deleted.
My bank is not supported. What now?
Add the account manually and enter the balance yourself. It counts toward your net worth like a connected one.
Is my data used to train anything?
No. Your transactions are used to show you your money and nothing else.
